Do you ever sit and think about a book that you read in fifth grade? No? Just me?

I remember a book about a boy that lived in a hollowed out tree. I can't remember many details other than that though but that particular thing about the book as stuck with me all these years. Those are the kinds of books that I want my children to read. The ones that stick with them for years.

In high school there are plenty of books like that. To Kill A Mocking Bird, Lord Of The Flies and Gone With The Wind are a few of my favorites. But upper elementary ones, at least for me, were hard to find at first. It didn't help that my memory isn't the sharpest anymore.

So I compiled a list of books that I want our girls to read. We started working on this list once they hit the fourth grade.

We are just hitting fourth grade this year and so far she is enjoying Shiloh. I am currently working on some awesome printables to go with each book so hopefully I will have those out soon!

Happy reading!
